Broken Hearts, Big Laughs, and 5-Star Magic
My heart is so full! I’m so thrilled I managed to race against the clock and finish this right before the library summer reading challenge ends on Monday. Nothing Like the Movies was worth every single second.
Just like book one (which gave me my all-time favorite Princess Bride reference with Wes and that iconic “As you wish” moment!), this sequel brought so much joy, smiles, and top-tier rom-com energy. Seeing the lengths Wes went to just to get Liz back was absolute perfection—he truly stole my heart all over again!
The emotional weight of this book caught me completely off guard, though. The heartbreaking moments hit so hard; I spent so much time crying one minute and laughing the next. This story broke my heart into pieces and then so tenderly put me back together again.
Lynn Painter worked absolute magic here, and I can now happily recommend her books to anyone. A complete, unforgettable 5-star masterpiece!
